Pat Whaley

Director of Football Operations

Friday Night Lights:

“It's early Nov; it’s dark and windy; it's raining - hard; it's cold - 30 something degrees.  There is no other place I would rather be than on the sidelines with the LW players and coaches.”

Pat is retired with 40 years of business experience and knowledge. This is his 14th season as LW Director of Football Operations.  He has been a fan of the sport his entire life (family Husky Football Season Tickets & TYEE Presidents Club Members for 6 decades; original Seahawk Season Ticket holder -1975).  Pat is married to Ellen and has two children. Their son, Sean, a LW 2013 graduate and starting wide receiver (2011-2012); a University of Puget Sound 2017 graduate and starting wide receiver (2013-2016).  Their daughter, Renee, is married with a boy and girl.

Pat oversees the Operations functions of the Program to support both the coaching staff and the team.

Football is not a lifetime sport.  97-99% of HS football players will never again wear a helmet or shoulder pads following their final HS football game.  Therefore, these players deserve to have the safest and newest equipment that can financially be supplied by the LW Football Program for the up to four seasons they can play for LW Football.

Pat considers his paramount responsibility is to ensure that all the LW Football players are properly fitted with the correct equipment for their size, position and safety.

Football is not a lifetime sport .... however ...

LW Football is a once in a lifetime experience.

Pat believes he has THE VERY BEST RETIREMENT JOB!!

Scott Webb

Assistant Director of Football Operations

I am an avid sports fan who has coached youth sports for six years. I live in Redmond with my wife Ann, son Spencer and daughter Ava. In 2016 I became a member of the Lake Washington High School Football coaching staff. My proudest coaching moment was in 2019 when my son Spencer as a senior was the starting center on the Kingco 3A championship Football team. After taking a year off from coaching during COVID, I am back and more excited than ever to contribute to the championship culture that coach Arena and his staff have cultivated these last seven years. GO KANGS.

They had no idea where they were going to end up and they didn’t speak English, but they made the tough choice of leaving everything behind including friends and family to pursue a better life in the U.S. Their determination and sacrifice taught Michael at an early age to never take anything for granted, work hard, be a good person, and eventually things will work out. These life lessons and values are what the game of football is all about. Football brings out the best in people and reinforces what never giving up, teamwork, and dedication is. Michael's ultimate goal is to combine his passion for the game of football with his love of teaching so that these young men can become the best versions of themselves on and off the field.
